This article is titled "Musicians: Their Point of Evolution and Ray Structures" and was written and researched by Andrew Creaghan. It was originally published in the Alberta New Music Review, Spring 1997.

Much is presumed about artists and their characteristics/style as being contingent upon their social influences, upbringing, education and training. While this is partly true, little is as yet understood with regard to the role that Esoteric Psychology plays in the life of any individual.

The "Seven Rays" are the fundamental energetic building blocks of the universe providing specific qualities to each individual according to the own unique combination of rays in the makeup of a person. This combination of forces is often evident in the style on display through each musician. The fundamental forces come together in the building of an individual's physical, emotional, mental and spiritual vehicles. These vehicles 'colour' the individual's expression in life and provide the 'line of least resistance' for their unique characteristics and qualities.

Likewise, humanity grows through the process of reincarnation - incarnating repeatedly, lifetime after lifetime - to gradually develop and eventually release the full potency of the indwelling spiritual nature. The degree of advancement of the individual, in terms of their stage of evolutionary progress ("point of evolution"), helps to determine the capacity they possess to imbue their works and creations with depth and potency from the Soul. This study of both the point of evolution and the ray structures of numerous well known musicians from across the last several centuries provides a revealing and provocative glimpse of this powerful new science.
